PHS Junior, Allyssa Chambers Wins International Title!
On July 11, 2009 in Orlando, Florida, after several days of competition including judges interviews, on stage performance and public speaking, Allyssa Chambers was crowned 2009 International Teen.
Allyssa has been a pageant competitor for 10 years, resulting in 7 New York State titles which provided her the opportunity to compete at the National level. As a National level contestant, Allyssa has had the honor of finishing Top Ten, Top Eight, second runner up and first runner up in various events through the years. This was Alyssa’s first time ever competing at the International level.
Alyssa’s year of service will include workshops to help others prepare to compete at the state and international level; she has already been an honored guest at the New York State Fair, as well as several state pageants including NY, NJ, PA, NC, SC and GA. She will be returning to Orlando, FL this July, to serve as host for the 2010 International Jr. Miss competition. She recently visited NYC and attended a live production of Good Morning America, where she was interviewed in front of the studio audience about her prestigious title and the responsibilities that go with it. In the year ahead, Allyssa will have opportunities in modeling, will be featured in national magazines, such as Pageantry and Supermodel Unlimited and will be attending the NYC Launch party for the upcoming issue of Supermodels Unlimited. Plans are also in the works for additional events and appearances.
Allyssa is the daughter of Steven and Tamara Chambers of Potsdam. She has two sisters, Chelsea, 20, and Shanielle, 13, and two brothers, Matthew, 18, and Brayden, 11.
